Hickory Dickory Dock The Mouse Ran Up The Clock Video

Hickory dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock.

Can you remember singing hickory dickory dock with your friends at school or home?

We can and we absolutely loved it.

Like many nursery rhymes, it’s origins are lost in the mists of time but a search of the internet reveals it likely goes back to the 17,00s which means it’s been a round for a long, long time.

Our musical team created a lovely soft and comforting version of the tune and right from the beginning we were determined to make our hickory dickory dock gentle and enchanting.

We chose Robin and Nibbles the mouse to be our main cast members and set the story in the woods.

The clock is a stylized cuckoo clock which Nibbles attempts to reach helped by Robin and his bow and arrow.

As we describe in the pre-release behind the scenes look at the making of this video, it took us a while to come up with a set of actions which were both interesting and didn’t place the characters in any danger.

The basic premise of the story is that, despite Robin’s help, Nibbles still finds it difficult to reach the clock and keeps sliding down the tree.

Help is given by some new characters, the birds, who suggest Nibbles flies up to the clock.

Nibbles’ back-pack turns into wings and she eventually reaches the clock and the video ends happily.

We really enjoyed creating this and enabling your child to get to know both Robin and Nibbles better.

It would be great to hear what you think about the birds in particular.

Should we include them in more videos?

Our aim is to produce the very best quality nursery rhymes on YouTube which your child really loves.

Remember, HuggyBoBo is your channel so suggestions are always welcomed.

Hickory Dickory Dock Lyrics

Hickory dickory dock the mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck one the mouse ran down,

hickory dickory dock.

Hickory dickory dock the mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck two the mouse ran down,

hickory dickory dock.

Hickory dickory dock the mouse ran up the clock,
The clock struck three the mouse ran down,

hickory dickory dock

Fatoid: Some people think that this song is actually based on the workings of the astronomical clock at Exeter Cathedral in the UK. Apparently it has a hole below the clock face so that the cat who lives in the cathedral can get in and chase the mice. We are not sure if this is actually true!
