Pop Goes The Weasel

Round and round the cobbler’s bench, the monkey chased the weasel, the monkey thought it was all in fun, pop goes the weasel.

We have no idea what the true origin of this popular nursery rhyme is.

A search of the internet and a look on Wikipedia are inconclusive but one thing’s for sure, kids love it and so do we.

There’s over 200,000 versions of Pop Goes The Weasel on YouTube already so we had to work hard to come up with an original take but our team likes a challenge.

One nice thing about this song is that their are many versions of the lyrics and many are somewhat abstract to say the least.

We decided to introduce a new weasel character and have Old MacDonald, OttoKoKo  and the Monkeys play with him.

We thought it would be fun to see him underground and have him climb up and down a ladder.

We hope you enjoy.

Pop Goes The Weasel Lyrics

Round and round the cobbler’s bench,
The monkey chased the weasel,
The monkey thought it was all in fun,
Pop goes the weasel.
A penny for a spool of thread,
A penny for a needle,
That’s the way the money goes,
Pop goes the weasel.
A half a pound of tuppenny rice,
A half a pound of treacle,
Mix it up and make it nice,
Pop goes the weasel.

Up and down the London road,
In and out of the eagle,
That’s the way the money goes,
Pop goes the weasel.
A penny for a spool of thread,
A penny for a needle,
That’s the way the money goes,
Pop goes the weasel.
A half a pound of tuppenny rice,
A half a pound of treacle,
Mix it up and make it nice,
Pop goes the weasel.
