12345 Once I Caught A Fish Alive Video

12345 Once I Caught A Fish Alive.

This is a lovely little nursery rhyme with its origins in the 1,700s but we’ve made our version very contemporary.

Ana plays the role of school teacher helping Otto learn how to count with the help of some fish.

Parents tell us this song is great for helping their little ones remember how to count and the nice thing is that there are two parts, 1,2,3,4,5 and 5,6,7,8,9,10.

We used the idea of the school board and the numbers under the fish to try and make the relationship between the number of fish shown and the digits nice and clear.

We’ve really let our imagination go to town as you’ll see when Otto puts on his snorkel and mask and goes swimming with the fish.

12345 Once I Caught A Fish Alive Lyrics

One, two, three, four, five,
Once I caught a fish alive,
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
Then I let him go again.

Why did you let him go?
Because he bit my finger so.

Which finger did he bite?
This little finger on the right.

One, two, three, four, five,
Once I caught a fish alive,
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten,
Then I let him go again.

Why did you let him go?
Because he bit my finger so.

Which finger did he bite?
This little finger on the right.
